Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get ready to drop off my car for repairs?
Please empty out your vehicle of as many personal items as possible. EZ Pass tags, phone chargers, parking permits, garage door openers, sunglasses, and any bulky items from the trunk. We may have your car for several days and you’re going to want these items. Also, the teardown stage involves the interior as well as the exterior and it helps the less stuff we have to move about.
How long are my repairs going to take?
That all depends on how extensive your damages are, and every job situation is always different. We will give you an estimated repair time when you drop off. However, during the teardown stage if we find additional damages, it could extend your repair schedule. Be patient! Quality takes time.
Am I going to have to pay for additional damages?
Nope. That’s what your insurance is for. You don’t have to worry about anything other than your deductible for any damages involved in your claim. When you sign our repair authorization form, it allows us to negotiate with your insurance company on your behalf and ensure all your repairs are paid for.
My insurance company sent me a check. What do I do with it?
Deposit it! Often, especially when the insurance company writes the initial estimate, they will send the customer that check. When you sign and authorize NWC to do your repairs, this allows us to negotiate additional damages and supplemental payments will be made to us, but you are still responsible for paying that first chunk of change. We suggest depositing it so you can make one payment at the time of pickup for this plus your deductible.
What’s the difference between a collision shop and a regular mechanic?
A collision shop generally deals with vehicles that have been involved in an accident. It’s usually mostly body work with some mechanical when necessary. We also work more closely with insurance claims. Your mechanic is the guy to take care of the wear, tear, and maintenance of your vehicle.
Can you fix other unrelated damage while my car is there?
Absolutely! We would be happy to give you an estimate on unrelated prior damage. It may even be more convenient and less expensive if it overlaps with work from your insurance claim. Just let us know at the time of dropoff.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
We guarantee all of our repair and paint workmanship as long as you own the car. Parts’ warranty varies based on the manufacturer.
